Candy Cane Preschool Christmas Craft

Colton and Cheyanne love to play with my buttons. So we made candy canes decorated with buttons this morning. The first was of course, with a pattern, the way Mommy likes it. The second was picking any button you want, the way the kids love it. The kids really like picking out the buttons and gluing them on. Sometimes the easiest things are the ones they like the best.

you know what would be a great idea? YOu should list the supplies you used. It would be super helpful.

Like what type of glue did you use for this? and what are the rings you used as hangers?

On this craft I used foam pieces for the candy cane, but construction paper works fine. You can use a popiscle stick behind it to keep it straight. I use hot glue but my kids are used to it. But Elmer's glue work well on the buttons. I just have no patients on letting things dry. The hoops are 2 different things. On the first set I used pipe stem cleaners glued to the back. The second set,I am not quite sure what those rings are from, they just happen to be in my button container. I hope that helps.

I knew I was saving all those buttons that come with new clothes for a reason! Not that I have gotten lots and lots of new clothes lately, but I have been saving the buttons for a long time!

I featured this today on our Christmas Activity Countdown. I included your link. Thanks for the inspiration.
