I thought this was a good idea for Scribbit's Winter Bazaar.I know Valentine's Day is over a month away, but I thought this was a cute idea. So I thought I would share it now.
This is an easy way to make a heart shaped cake. I did not do it with a real cake because I am on a diet and I can not resist cake. I think this will still show you how to do it without ruining my diet
First, bake a cake in a 8 in. square pan and another in a 8 in. round cake pan.

That'll be cute no matter what you make!! Good for you, not ruining your diet...keep it up!!
Mmm, cake and brownies, your killing me over here. I might fiddle around with cupcakes and make the same shape. I've got the Valentine's party to coordinate....
What a cute idea! I would love cake, brownies, pie, pudding, anything right now!
I can't wait to see how it turns out...
Thanks for giving us the heads up on how to create the "heart"

That IS so cute. Again, you never cease to amaze me with your creative mind.
Oh and I also have a little blog bling awaiting you over at my place.
Your paper cake made the perfect demo!!
You are too funny! Very smart to use the paper instead of cake. I had never thought of making it out of brownies...great idea! Way to go on staying strong, after all, making a cake would be totally justfied if it was for the BLOG.
That is such a great idea!!! Thanks for the tip...if you can believe it I never knew you could do that with cake pans...silly me! I guess that might happen if I actually could cook. HA!
Take Care,

Or something. I'm doing something.
Probably.

That is a great idea! And I love that you used the paper "cakes"! :)

Hey Jen,
I love this idea! Thanks for sharing it. And thanks for stopping by my blog.
I see we hail from the same state, too! I just met a couple at a party this past weekend from Winston-Salem.
How cute! Brownies would be so cute with this!
Very crafty! I would never have come up with that on my own thanks for the tip, you will make my families day when they see that heart cake!
That's an awesome idea! You're too funny by doing the paper thing instead of real cake. I can't resist cake either!!
I LOVE this...how clever to use what you already have to make something wonderful!
Great idea! And making heart shaped brownies sounds even better.
I was just thinking of doing a Valentine Dinner for the family the other day. Brownies would be great...and frosting them even better. Great idea.
You're making me hungry! Rice Krispies IS a good idea!
typed in heart shaped brownie and came to this site. really cool site and i am always looking for new ideas even tho i am not a mother with 4 little kids but once had 4 lovely little daughters under our roof. anyhow i think i will bake a brownie mix (cake type) in a large pan so they will be flatter and let them cool and then cut them out with a heart shaped cutter and put two of them, overlapping, on a heart shaped red plate (target 2008)side by side and drizzle cold canned cherry pie filling over the top and then put on a dab of whip topping. one of my daughters anniversary and we always have dinner for them and their daughter 9yr old kaley helps to cook and serve.
