Slow Cooking Thursday

Today is Slow Cooking Thursday at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom
This is so easy and it is good.

You need :

A whole chicken
Rotisserie Chicken Seasoning from McCormick's
1/2 cup of chicken broth or water.

Place chicken in Slow Cooker, add liquid and sprinkle on a lot of seasoning.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
You can also add sliced onions and celery for flavor.

Also 5 Minutes for Mom is giving away an Oreck Vacuum. You need to check it out.

ooooh. I didn't know there was such thing as rotisserie flavoring. Thanks for the heads up!
I made a chicken the other day and found it bland. this would be better.

We make this about once a week. I put the chicken up on balled foil to make a rack. It holds its shape a little better. I use the leftovers for our chicken salad sandwiches. YUMMY!

This sounds yummy! I think I will give it a shot!

BTW- I tried your Flavorful Roast from last week and boy was it YUMMY to my tummy!!! My oldest son (7 years old) said "You need to add this one to the list to make again!" I made the gracy and we poured that over egg noodles!

Oh I have a question, or two.....I use the slow cooker a lot since I work at have two little ones. Anyway, I prepared like usual with the same amount of liquid and when I got home, all the liquid was gone and my chicken (boneless thighs) was brown and stuck to the sides. Do you think my slow cooker is going bad?
On your recipe...do the bones in the whole chicken fall apart, leaving it where you have to pick them all out?
If you can't already tell...I lack in the cooking department...my kids are lucky they are still alive!

Another easy recipe - i love it!!

This is to reply to Stinky John Jones. I do not know if the element is bad, my liquid has never dried up.
And some of the meat falls off but not usually the beast so that is a good piece of meat that you do not have to pick the bones out of. I am sorry I am not much help. I am not a great cook either. I just put it in and hope it works. That is why I like the crock pot because it is so easy.

Stinky John Jones,

My liquid was gone once and the meat was burnt and it was because my lid was a tiny bit crooked and everything seeped out. You should check that before you buy another crock pot.

Last comment, I swear. I just read about your husbands job predicament and how it is solved and would like to say congratulations because it could have been so much worse. Also, good for your husband for standing up for himself.

Now, I am just wondering...which is better: cooking it in the crock pot for 8 hours or in that nifty Pampered Chef roaster thing in the microwave for 30 minutes?
