Hot Air Balloon

Image
The kids and I did this hot air balloon a few years ago, we liked it so much we thought we would try it again. We used: Plastic grocery bag, Styrofoam (or plastic cup), scissors, thread, needle, blow dryer. Cut the cup down to about 1/4 of its original size, leaving the bottom. Also cut the handles off the plastic bag. Take the needle and thread and sew around the opening of the bag, to make the opening smaller. Now hang the basket by sewing 4 threads equally around from the cup to the bag. Place the opening over the hairdryer and turn on high. Now let it fly.

My Angels

Image
My kids love doing these holiday pictures. One Christmas we made elves and this year Caity asked to make Christmas trees. I love my angels on top of the trees !!!! All 4 of my kids colored their own trees (coloring pages). Here is my favorite. This is a picture of Quinn from Halloween. He love these crafts, they always make him look so good. Colton loves making faces. My pretty angel. My cool angel. My super sweet angel. I just added this because I like it. It is Chey at her Christmas party. She loves Santa.

A Nutcracker with Bling

Image
I found this cute nutcracker really cheap, so I thought I would dress him up. I used : a nutcracker, glue gun and sequins. Just glue on the sequins!! Now you have a nutcracker with BLING !!!

Snowman Gift Wrap

Image
Cody has to take a gift to class for his Christmas party, they are playing Dirty Santa. I though I would wrap his gift in a fun and festive way. The gift is a large chocolate bar and gum. I thought 5 th grade boys and girls may like that, there was a $5 limit on the present. I used: wrapping paper markers, construction paper, yarn, pom-pom, tape, glue and scissors. Wrap the present white side out. Wrap the top half with the construction paper for the hat. Draw on the face with markers and glue on the pom-pom. Tie the yarn around the neck and the hat. I love snowmen, and I think this is an adorable way to decorate a present.

Sparkling Candy Cane

Image
Cheyanne made this pretty sparkling candy cane today! We used a candy cane, glue and glitter. Spread the glue all over one side of the candy cane. Sprinkle on glitter. Allow time to dry . Then repeat on the other side. I think it looks pretty on the tree or on top of a present.

Jingles the Snowman

Image
Cheyanne and I made these jingle bell snowmen today. I think they look great on our tree. We used: a large white bell, chenille stem, 2 pom-poms, black marker, orange felt and glue. We cut and glued on the chenille stem for the top of the ear muffs. We did use a glue gun for the chenille stem to help it stick faster. Then we glued on the pom-poms. We glued on the orange felt nose and drew on the eyes and mouth with the marker. Next we added the ribbon and bow to complete the ornament. Love them!!!!!

Alphabet Wreath

Image
I saw this wreath in the Ballard's Design catalog. I thought it was a good idea but I do not have $35 to spend on it this Christmas, so Cheyanne and I made one. Ours has a lot more bows, Chey likes bows. We used: wire clothes hanger shaped into the letter of our last name, very cheap garland because it was very easy to shape, bows and glue. Wrap garland around the wire and glue each ends, we used a hot glue gun for that. Then glue on your bows. I used fishing line to use as a hanger but the Ballard Design people used ribbon.
