Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

The girls and I love to paint. We saw a picture of this beautiful mat in catalog, and we decided to use it as an inspiration for our paintings. We used poster board and acrylic paints. Here is Caity's: Here is Cheyanne's: Here is mine:

There are some kids that really do not like the idea of touching paint or having dirty hands, so this is a good way to introduce them to finger painting. It is also a fun and easy painting project with a lot less clean up than regular finger painting. We used: Finger painting paper, finger paint and wax paper. You can also used thing like a marker with the lid, a comb and maybe some play dough tools to draw in the paint. Place some paint on the paper and cover it with wax paper. Now press on the paper to move the paint around. You can also draw on it with a dull instrument.

I love HGTV's David Bromstad on Color Splash, I think he is a fabulous painter and designer. He always makes his painting look so easy. I always think," I could do that." Well as you can see, he makes it look a lot easier than it really is. Cody and I decided to take on these paintings below. As you can see our did not turn out as great as David's, but it made for some nice Mom and son time. It is sad when you can not tell the difference between mine and my 9 year old son. Needless to say I will never be a great painter.
