Image
Repost I thought this would be a cute back-to-school craft to do with the kids. You will need : top of an egg carton, yellow paint, black marker, old magazine, paint brushes, black paper, scissors and glue. First, paint the egg carton yellow. Allow to dry. Cut out circles for tires. Cut out heads and faces to put in the windows of the school bus. Glue on tires, faces and decorate the bus with the black marker.

Painted Acorns

Image
I love these painted acorns. They are a great Fall decoration that is super easy. I saw these somewhere, but I can not find the blog again to do a link. We went and found some acorns and tops. If you cannot find the acorns attached to the tops you can hot glue them together. Now just paint the acorns with acrylic paint.

Paint the glue on the some wax paper. Place the leave on top. Paint more glue onto the leave and on the side next to the leaf on the wax paper. Sprinkle glitter. Fold wax paper over top the leave. Press flat. Allow time for glue to dry and cut around the outside edges of leaf.

Fall Preschool Activities

Image
I am not working at the preschool this year because my husband and I are opening a Veterinary Hospital, but until things get finished, I have been helping at the preschool. These are some of the activities we have been doing: We read,"There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves". The kids held up leaves and cards with the things the Old Woman swallowed. The kids loves waving the leaves around. They made some scarecrows. Then we made apple sauce. And made a chart on who liked it and who did not. Last week we read, "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake" The kids made cupcakes with glitter sprinkles.

This is an easy way to dress up your windows for fall. The girls loved making these Sun Catchers. We used: Clear contact paper, red, orange and yellow tissue paper (cut into small pieces), tape and scissors. Tape a 5x5 inch square of contact paper down to the work space. (Clear side down and sticky side up) Remove covering. Place small pieces of tissue paper onto the contact paper. Place another 5x5 square of contact paper on top to cover it. (Sticky sides together) Cut into a leaf shape and tape to a sunny window.

More Apple Crafts

Image
We are continuing with our apple crafts. The 2 we did today that have cute poems to go along with them. The first craft we did, we used: Paper, red paint, brown paint, green paint and a paint brush. I painted Cheyanne's palm and stamped it on the paper twice. Then we made a leaf and a stem with Chey's finger prints. The poem that goes along with it is: Away up high In the apple tree, Two red Apples Smiled at me. I shook the tree As hard as I could And down came the Apples MMMMMM were they good !!!!! Finger Print Apples The next project we used: paper, ink pad and markers. The girls stamped their fingers to make the apples. They then added stems and leaves with the markers. A cute poem to go along with this is: These are special apples Hanging on this tree. I made them with my fingers prints They are a part of me. During this week we are also going to use a juicer to juice Red, Yellow and Green apples to see how they taste different.

Scented Leaf Printing

Image
One thing I love about helping out in my son's class is all the great ideas I get to see. I love this this idea, it is a different way to get a leaf print. It is fun, easy and smells great. It uses Kool-Aid or Gelatin powder to make the print. To do these great prints you will need: Jello or Kool-Aid powder (any brand will do), leaves (they can't be dry and crumbly), glue, paint brush and paper. First, paint the leaf on the vein side. Press the glue side down firmly on to the paper. Peel leaf from the paper. Sprinkle the powder on to the glue print. Dump off access. And here is your print. This is Caity's print.
