Preschool Felt Mosaic

Image
Cheyanne had fun making this easy Mosaic. We used a foam sheet, felt, glue and a pencil. Cut the felt into small squares. Draw a picture on the foam sheet with the pencil. Squeeze the glue onto the pencil drawing and add felt squares.

Thumb of My Friends T-Shirt

Image
Cheyanne's teacher had each child in her class makethese adorable t-shirts. The shirts say "Thumb of my Friends" and each child put their thumb print on the shirt. I think they are so cute and Cheyanne just loves it.

Some Classroom Activities

Image
Here are some fun and easy activities that I have in my classroom. The kids really love hammering golf tees into Styrofoam. They also like making simple flower arrangements. And this is the newest addition to my classroom and my kids, both toddlers and 2's, love this desk. I found the idea at Her Cup Overfloweth. I drew the computer screen and taped it to the wall. There is also a pad of paper with crayon, an old phone, calculator and a keyboard.

End of the Year Pre School Gift

Image
I wanted to give my pre school kids a cute year of the gift without breaking the bank. I went to the Dollar Tree and picked up a few summer items and put them together in a castle making pail. I made 9 of these for around $15. It contains bubbles, a 5 pack of colored chalk, a small pin wheel and 2 freezer pops. I thought this would also make a good goody bag for a pre schooler birthday party.

Fall Decoration For The PreSchool

Image
One thing I love about being a Pre-School teacher is decorating my room. On Friday I changed my bulletin boards for the Fall. The first board is a fall tree. "Fall into Jesus" is the theme of the board. This is my second bulletin board. It says," Dear God, I just filled an empty wall with a pumpkin patch . On Tuesday we are going to make some glitter leaves and glue them to a spiral made out of construction paper and hang them from the ceiling. These are the name tags that hang over their coat hooks. I am going to put their names on the bear's hat. I love Halloween and decorating my room.

Pumpkin Door Decorations

Image
This is a cute craft that even the little ones can decorate. These are Jack-o-Lateran door hangers. You will need: construction paper, scissors, glue, a marker and yarn. Cut out pumpkins, leaves and stems. Decorate pumpkins. Tie a loop on the top of the yarn for the hanger. Glue on pumpkins. Cheyanne had so much fun she made two. I could not let her have all the fun, I made one too. I think I will have a lot of these hanging around my house.

Camping at Preschool

Image
I was so excited about this, at Preschool we went camping. I set up a tent with my no sew pillows and a lantern. I also made a fire out of paper towel rolls and tissue paper. In the tent we read stories and pretended to listen to forest noises like owls, crickets and the kid's favorite bears. I also made binoculars out of toilet paper rolls. I also brought real binoculars for them to look through. And we had Smores cereal for snack. You may be asking why is there a Christmas pictureon a camping post. Because we had to make them now so that they will be ready for Christmas. The art work will be on cups, aprons, mouse pads etc. We will be camping on Thursday too, I will share the rest of our activities then.

Story Puppets

Image
I love this idea, I am borrowing it from our wonderful librarian, Ms. Wendy. She would always make puppets to go along with stories or rhymes she would do. The kids always loved it. So I am going to do it for my class too. This idea is good for a group or just one child. In a group it helps the kids pay attention because they do not want to miss getting a puppet. If it is one child they love getting them during the story and helps them retell it afterwards. The puppets are also fun for puppet shows. To make the puppet box you will need: a shoe box, felt, glue gun and scissors. Cover the box with felt. Put holes in the box for the sticks to go in. To make the puppets, copy the pictures from the book or make your own. I covered mine with clear contact paper and glued them to craft sticks.

I Would Like Your Opinion !!!!!

Image
My first day as a teacher is soon approaching, I am very excited, but also a little nervous. I know I have a huge responsibility of taking care of other's precious babies. But because these children are 2, I feel like I have an even bigger responsibility. This may be the first time for some parents leaving there children in someone's care they do not know. With that being said, I would like to know what your children's teachers have done to make you feel more comfortable about leaving them in their care. Would you like daily notes ? Phone calls? How often? If you kids have not gone to preschool, you can also let me know what you would expect. Did the teacher do anything special with the children when the parent's were leaving? I know the first few weeks are going to be difficult for some kids. I would also love to hear about any good experiences you have had with you kid's teacher's. I can wait to hear what you have to say.

My Exciting News (at least for me)

Three of my kids will be in elementary school and Cheyanne will be at this Preschool (I will be in her class when I am with the 3 years old ). I have been drawing and cutting my fingers off. These are pictures of my hard labor. I have just loved doing it. This is right outside my door. "We're Beary Glad To See You" I just love these Teddys . This one of my Bulletin Boards: " Friendships Blossom Here" This is my favorite: We're So Hoppy to See You" Aren't these frogs too cute? This is the Artist's Corner. Kids are going to put up any art work they would like to place here, they are even welcome to bring pictures they create from home. This is Alphie the Inch Worm: I wish I could say I got these ideas fro...
