Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

I love this dessert, so I thought I would repost it. I am going to make it tonight. Yum !!! Oh My Goodness, this is a wonderful tasting dessert. Even if it was not so super easy to make, I would still love it. This is so easy the kids can make it !!!!!!! And only 3 ingredients. Ingredients: -Pumpkin pie mix (different than canned pumpkin, it has all the pumpkin spices all ready in it. I bought it at Wal-mart) -Marshmallow cream -Whipped topping Just use 2 tablespoon of each ingredient and stir. It may not seem like it makes a lot, but it is very rich. The kids, my husband and I all love it !!!

I love having fun pictures in my kitchen that make me smile. And these definitely make me smile. The girls colored the coloring pages of turkeys. I cut them out and add the pictures. Gobble, Gobble !!!!

I am on a flower pot kick apparently. Today we made this cute Native American. It looks so cute sitting on my shelf with the pilgrim hats. We used:A small terracotta pot,paints, eyes, scissors, glue, construction paper,markers and feathers. Now decorate. I love Thanksgiving and I think it is a cheerful holiday. I am sorry how the American Indians were treated in history, but I still love my country very much. In the past, I have gotten negative comments from anonymous people about Thanksgiving and doing Native American crafts. Your comments will not change my mind about this holiday or my country, so respectfully can keep them to yourself please.

I think these turkeys are soooo adorable and easy to make. I love how you can take a fall flower arrangement into a Thanksgiving arrangement. Or a cute place card holders. We used: silk flowers, glue, scissors, paper, wiggly eyes and buttons. Cut the bottom petals off the flower and create a turkey face. Glue button on to the flowers.

We made these cute pilgrim hats from the ghost flower pots for Halloween. I think they turned out great and look so festive on the table. We used: small terracotta pots, brown paint, brush, scissors, glue, black felt or paper cut into strips and yellow paper cut like a buckle. Paint the pot brown and glue on hat strap and buckle. I also added a brown circle underneath the pot for the rim of the hat.

We made these cute turkey dinners. Last year we made a Turkey Feast, so I thought this would be a fun change. (Check out the feast, it is super cute) We used: Paper plate, small paper bag, green and yellow tissue paper, cotton balls, yellow construction paper, clear tape, newspaper and glue. Just stuff the paper bag with newspaper, twist the end and secure with tape. Place on paper plate. Glue on cotton balls and glue on a square of yellow construction paper for the mashed potatoes and butter. Cut small pieces yellow and green tissue paper and roll in balls. Glue on to the plate for the corn and peas.

Here is a fun, quick and good smelling craft. Make a slice of Pumpkin Pie. We used: A paper plate, brown and orange paint, paint brush, cinnamon, cotton balls and scissors. I cut the paper plate into 1/4s. And combined some orange and brown paint to look like Pumpkin pie. Cheyanne painted the 1/4 of the plate. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle on the cinnamon and put the cotton balls on top to look like whipped cream. Now you have you pumpkin pie.

Here is yet another Indian corn project. This is a good project for the younger kids. We used:White paper, brown, red, orange and yellow paint, scissors, stapler and paper bag. Make different colored finger prints all over the paper. Allow time for the paint to dry. Cut out a corn shape and stapler the paper bag to the top. I made a wreath with the corn and turkey hand prints. It looks better in person.

This is a fun project, even for older kids. When was the last time one of your older kids finger painted? It is fun to watch them, My 8 year old just dotted it at first. I had to tell her it was o.k. to spear it all around and get messy. Cheyanne and Caity loved finger painting the feathers. We used: Paper plates or white paper, different colored paints, scissors, brown, yellow and red construction paper, and wiggly eyes. Finger paint the plate or paper. Allow time to dry or put in microwave at 25 second intervals until dry. If using paper, cut out feather shapes. Glue the feathers on another sheet of paper in a half circle pattern. Glue on head and decorate the face.
