Paper Plate Jellyfish

Image
We made these paper plate jellyfish at preschool. We used: paper plates, paint, glitter, streamers and glue. Paint the plate and sprinkle on the glitter while the paint is still wet. Allow to dry. Then glue streamer strips to the under side of the plate. Eye are optional, I guess jellyfish do not even have eyes.

Handprint Octopus

Image
In my 2's class we made these great hand print octopus. We used: paint, paper, glue, tissue paper, eyes, and foam sea creatures. I painted the hand and all 5 fingers, and then the second time I paint their 3 fingers for the extra legs.

Spoon Fish

Image
Cheyanne came up with this craft all on her own and did it all on her own. I think she did a great job turning a wooden spoon into a fish. I love it when my kids use their imaginations.

Ocean Theme at Preschool

Image
We are continuing our unit on the ocean in my preschool class. In our sensory table we had sand and sea shells. We had an ocean matching game. The kids enjoyed looking at all the different sea creatures. Then we made our hand print crab pictures. Then we made sea shell necklaces.

Super Easy Paper Plate Fishies

Image
The theme in my preschool class this week is the ocean. My toddlers made these great fish. It is a perfect project for the little ones. There are so many ways that this fish can be decorated such as tissue paper, glitter, or paint with bubble wrap. My kids just painted it with water colors. Then I cut out the triangle for the mouth and stapled it on for the tail and the kids glued on the eye. The kids did a job.

Crab Crafts

Image
Here is a cute crab hand print craft one of the teachers at my school did for her classes' Art By Me project. Her class is called The Creative Crabs, so this is a perfect project for her class. Her class also has a pet hermit crab they takes turns caring for on the weekends. Here is another cute crab project my kids and I did a while back. The crabs are made from pasta shells. Go here for the directions.

Whale Craft

Image
Cheyanne and I made this cute whale craft today. We used: A small plastic flower pot (I think a terracotta pot would work better), blue paint, white chenille stems, large wiggly eyes, glue, blue construction paper, and blue beads. Paint the pot blue. Allow to dry. Cut out fins and tail. Add one bead to each chenille stem. Poke a hole in the pot and put in chenille stems. Glue on fins, tail and eyes. Cheyanne said it needed a mouth.

Octopus Craft

Image
Cheyanne and I made this cute Octopus. It was super easy. It would be a great project to go along with an octopus book or under the sea unit. We used: Paper plate, balloon, a permanent marker, paint and scissors. Paint the paper plate. Allow to dry. Decorate the balloon with permanent marker. We did glue on wiggly eyes. Cut out legs and a small hole in the center of the plate. Put the tie part of the balloon through the hole in the center of the plate.

Coffee Filter Fish

Image
We took a little break from the Halloween crafts and made these coffee filter rainbow fish. You will need: coffee filter, water spray bottle, markers, glue, construction paper, scissors and glue. Color coffee filter with markers. Cut out fish pieces. Spray coffee filter with water. Allow to dry. If you want to speed up the drying process, use a hair dryer. Glue on fish pieces.

Here are 2 super easy paper plate crafts. First is an octopus and second is a rainbow hat. For the octopus craft you will need: Paper plate, purple paint, paint brush, glue stick, scissors, green crepe paper or tissue paper and wiggly eyes. Cut the center out of the plate. Paint the plate purple. Allow time to dry. Glue 8 strips of crepe paper to the under side of the plate. Glue on eyes. Rainbow hats. I thought this would be a good craft for discussing colors. You will need: Paper plate, glue, scissors, and rainbow color crepe paper or tissue paper. Cut out the center of the paper plate. Glue on strips of crepe paper.
