Color Matching Game for Young Preschoolers

Image
Here is a super simple and easy game to make, to help young preschoolers with their colors. I used: 3x5 index cards and markers. Make two of the cards the same with the colors and words on them. Shuffle the cards and have your child match them.

Pre School Color Game

Here is a simple and inexensive game that helps little ones learn their colors. All we used is color swatches from the paint store. I pick 2 strips from each color family. Cut in between the colors. I put out one of each color and Cheyanne matched the rest. The game is a little too easy for her, but it worked great in my 2 year old pre school class.

Halloween Pumpkin and Eyeball Game

Image
This is a great game. It is fun to play and cheap and easy to make. All you need is a plastic pumpkin, ping pong balls and markers. Color the ping pong balls to look like eyes. Now the game is ready to play. To play, try to bounce the balls into the pumpkin . Also Leigh and Britton asked what was hanging from my chandelier that they saw in one of my pictures. It was a ghost made from plastic grocery bags.

Number Game

This is a game I used to teach 3 of my kids their numbers, they enjoy playing it and they learn something. First I take a poster board and divide it into 100 blocks and fill in the numbers from 1 to 100. There are many ways to variate on how you would play. We play with money (money is always good or small candies). I tell them a number and they need to place the money on that number, if they get it right they get to keep the money, if not they lose it. If they are a little older, I tell them," put a quarter on number 72," that way I can reinforce the names of the coins to them. I have also done this with letters. It could probably be used with sight words also. I like this game because you can play it while cooking dinner.

Quick and Easy Treasure Hunt

Image
I was trying to get the some things accomplished this weekend but the kids kept interupting . So I was thinking how can I get them out of my hair for a little while. I had read at Sunshine's Blog , her son had done a treasure hunt for her on Valentine's Day. And at the end there was candy and a big card he had made. It is a very sweet post. Anyway, I thought I can do that, leave clues around the house and they could find something at the end. I used a stuff animal for their treasure. The hunt was suppose to be the fun part, not the prize. I took 3x5 cards and wrote simple clues on the them. I know you guys can come up with clues, because I read your blogs and you are all very creative but I will still give you some examples: It is where you sleep that is high in the sky - Top bunk It is very cold here. Brrrrrrrr! I a freezing. - The freezer Where you put your dirty clothes- Laundry Room See you can reenforce good habits Use it to eat- Utensil drawer Let James out!!! - Open the...

Preschool Games- You Can Make At Home

Image
Works for me Wednesday at Rocks in My Dryer. Winter Bazaar at Scribbit. These are games that my kids and I have played and have enjoyed. They do not require a lot of materials but are very fun. The first one is the missing game, and all my kids still like this one. 1. The Missing Game. You need a tray or a plate, and put random items on it. Let the kids study it and then remove one item, while they close their eyes. Now let them guess which item is missing. The older the child, or the more items you place on the tray. 2. Animal Charades- Write a bunch of different animals names on pieces of paper or cut out pictures from magazines and glue them on a card. Let the child draw on e out from a bowl. Tell them the animal if it is written, and let them act it out. The others would have to guess it. Whoever guesses correctly, wins that round and gets to go next. This is Colton being a snake. This game can be very amusing. 3.Do not forget, there is always,"Simon Says....
