Hand Print Peppermint Candy

Image
I just love this craft, so I thought I would re-post it. This is such a cute craft, Cheyanne loved making it because she got to use the salad spinner. We used: Salad Spinner, 3 paper plates, red and/or green paint, glue, scissors, and poem. Optional: ribbon and peppermint oil. You can add the oil to the paint to make it smell like a peppermint. Cut the paper plate to fit in the salad spinner. Place the plate in the salad spinner and drop a few drops of paint on the plate. Now spin. On the other to plates, make hand prints on each plate. Cut the hand prints into rounded triangle shapes. Glue the poem to the center of the peppermint. Poem: I think you're sweet as candy. Your love always makes me smile. Please keep these hands to remind you, of when I was a sweet child. Glue the hand prints to the side of the pound plate. Add a ribbon to the back for a hanger. On the green one I added ribbons to the side.

Piggie Finger Prints

Cheyanne made these cute piggies at preschool. I thought it look like a fun project, especially if you are working on farm animals. Materials used: Brown and pink paint, black marker and paper. Finger paint or brush on the brown paint for mud. Allow time to dry. Make pink finger prints for the pigs bodies. Allow to dry. Then draw heads and legs.

In my 2's class we made these great hand print octopus. We used: paint, paper, glue, tissue paper, eyes, and foam sea creatures. I painted the hand and all 5 fingers, and then the second time I paint their 3 fingers for the extra legs.

Handprint Chicken

Image
I just love hand print pictures and my kids at home and school love doing them too. I think this hand print chicken is just adorable. Cheyanne and I did the hand print together and she painted the background herself. The brown thing in the corner is a nest with eggs.

Mother's Day Flowers

Image
I made these flowers for myself for Mother's Day. I traced my kid's hands on a piece of craft foam and glued them to pipe stem cleaners. This flower was made with pipe stem cleaners and I put a picture in the center.

Hand Print Birdie and Paper Bag Nest

Image
I love this bird. This was a fun project for Cheyanne to do. We first went on a nature walk to pick up "Nature" to make a nest. Cheyanne kept saying," Lets find some nature Mom." We used:a lunch paper bag with the sides folded down, "Nature" such as leaves and small sticks, glue, red paint, white paper, wiggly eyes, yellow paper and feathers. First we made the bird. Make a footprint on the white paper. Glue on eyes, beak and feathers. Glue "nature" onto the paper bag to make a nest. Place the birdie in it's nest.

Another Great Foot Print Idea

Image
I said in a previous post that we were doing a fundraiser with the kids art work, here is a project one of the other teachers are doing. It is so cute. And instead of using John Deere she is putting the child's name in place of the John. She made stencils for the tires and seat for the kids to also do. She got the idea from this great blog by Artsy_ Momma . Here is Artsy_Momma's tractor . You need to check out Artsy_Momma's blog, she has the best hand print and foot print art ideas.
