Another Great Foot Print Idea

Image
I said in a previous post that we were doing a fundraiser with the kids art work, here is a project one of the other teachers are doing. It is so cute. And instead of using John Deere she is putting the child's name in place of the John. She made stencils for the tires and seat for the kids to also do. She got the idea from this great blog by Artsy_ Momma . Here is Artsy_Momma's tractor . You need to check out Artsy_Momma's blog, she has the best hand print and foot print art ideas.

5 Senses- Sight

Image
In school we are continuing with our 5 senses. This week is sight. The kids got to look at various thing under a magnifying glass. Then we read some books. The kids really enjoyed the "I Spy" books. Then we made the second page of our senses book. Sight-My sense of sight helps me learn how things look. We used sticker eyes to put all over the page, but wiggly eyes or eyes cut from a magazine would also work. Then I made an I spy bottle for them.

Hand Print Art- The Hands That Hold Your Heart

At school we have a fund raiser with the children's art. Since my toddlers can only scribble, this is what we did instead.

Science Experiment - Expansion

Image
My kids loved doing this experiment. You only need a few things that you already have around the house. Blow up a balloon with using your mouth. We used:2 balloons,2 plastic bottles, 2 pitchers- one filled with hot water and the other with ice water. Fit the balloons tightly over the openings of the 2 empty bottles. Put one bottle in the pitcher with ice water. See what happens. Put the other bottle in the pitcher with hot water. Now what happens ?

These may not be the prettiest Valentine's, but Cheyanne had a lot of fun making them. We used: Paint, brushes, paper, craft stick and foam sheets cut into heart shapes. Cheyanne painted the foam hearts. Then took the craft stick and swirled the paint. Then she pressed the foam heart on to the paper. Really hard, as you can see.
