Finger paint or brush on the brown paint for mud. Allow time to dry. Make pink finger prints for the pigs bodies. Allow to dry. Then draw heads and legs.

Positive and Negative Paper Art

Image
Here is a fun paper craft. Quick, easy and little clean up. You will need: 2 sheets of different colored construction paper ( 9x12 and 12x18.), scissors, and glue. Cut the smaller piece of paper into 4 equal parts. Arrange them like a checker board to create a pattern. Cut a design in each rectangle, making sure to stop before getting to the edge. Place and glue the shape, opposite of it cut out, to create a negative and positive pattern.

Paper Craft

Here is a fun and easy craft for preschoolers and older children. Another great thing is that it does not take a lot of materials. We used: 4 different colored sheets of construction paper (one of them black), ruler, scissors, glue and a stapler. Draw a 1/4 inch border around each of the pieces of construction paper except the black one. Now have the kids cut shapes (regular and irregular shapes) inside the border of the paper. For younger kids, you may need to start the cut. Now stack the pieces of paper on top of each other and staple at the corners.

We made these paper plate jellyfish at preschool. We used: paper plates, paint, glitter, streamers and glue. Paint the plate and sprinkle on the glitter while the paint is still wet. Allow to dry. Then glue streamer strips to the under side of the plate. Eye are optional, I guess jellyfish do not even have eyes.

Handprint Octopus

In my 2's class we made these great hand print octopus. We used: paint, paper, glue, tissue paper, eyes, and foam sea creatures. I painted the hand and all 5 fingers, and then the second time I paint their 3 fingers for the extra legs.

Spoon Fish

Image
Cheyanne came up with this craft all on her own and did it all on her own. I think she did a great job turning a wooden spoon into a fish. I love it when my kids use their imaginations.

Handprint Chicken

Image
I just love hand print pictures and my kids at home and school love doing them too. I think this hand print chicken is just adorable. Cheyanne and I did the hand print together and she painted the background herself. The brown thing in the corner is a nest with eggs.

Cute Birthday Present

Image
Cheyanne finally had her birthday sleepover. Her best friend Sarah gave her this cute present. It is a Webkinz chicken with eggs in a basket. The eggs were filled with money. Cheyanne loves the Webkinz and had so much fun opening the eggs. Beth , Sarah's mom also gave my son, Colton, money in a fun way for his birthday. She blew up balloons and put money in them. She then put the balloons in a large wrapped box. Colton was surprised to see a box full of balloons and had so much fun popping the balloons to get his presents. Thanks Beth, Sarah and Peter.

Ocean Theme at Preschool

Image
We are continuing our unit on the ocean in my preschool class. In our sensory table we had sand and sea shells. We had an ocean matching game. The kids enjoyed looking at all the different sea creatures. Then we made our hand print crab pictures. Then we made sea shell necklaces.

Super Easy Paper Plate Fishies

Image
The theme in my preschool class this week is the ocean. My toddlers made these great fish. It is a perfect project for the little ones. There are so many ways that this fish can be decorated such as tissue paper, glitter, or paint with bubble wrap. My kids just painted it with water colors. Then I cut out the triangle for the mouth and stapled it on for the tail and the kids glued on the eye. The kids did a job.
