We Made It ! Friday Showcase !!!!!

Image
Happy Weekend!!!!! Summer is so busy for us, we can not seem to find the time to get in a lot of craft projects. I hope you are finding more time that I am, I can not wait to see what you have done this week.

Bug or Candy Jar

Image
Today we created candy and bug jars. I like when a basic idea can fit all the ages of my kids. The older kids made the bug jars and my youngest enjoyed making the candy jar. We used: a picture I drew of a jar, and paint for the candy jar and colored pencils for the bug jars. Cheyanne used finger prints to make the candy in the jar. The older 3 drew pictures of bugs in their jars.

Funny Faces

Image
Cheyanne and I had so much fun making these funny faces. We used: Old magazines (cut out pictures of eyes, noses, hair, mouths and ears), scissors, flesh colored paint, paint brush and oval wooden shape ($.97 at Walmart). Cheyanne painted the wooden piece. Allow to dry. Cut out all the face pieces. Decorate the face, Cheyanne needed the glove because she was doing surgery.

Today is We Made It! Friday Showcase!!! If you have done a fun project with your kids, we would love for you to share it. Every week I see so many fun ideas. Have great weekend and thanks for sharing your projects.

Polly Want A Cracker ?

Image
Here is a cute and easy way for your little pirate to have a parrot for their shoulder. We used: construction paper, glue, scissors and wiggly eyes. Stapler optional. Cut a strip of paper 2.5 in x 12 in. Fold into a triangle, and staple or glue overlapping edges. Cut out feet, wings, head and beak. Glue on body parts.

Another HGTV Inspired Painting

Image
I love HGTV's David Bromstad on Color Splash, I think he is a fabulous painter and designer. He always makes his painting look so easy. I always think," I could do that." Well as you can see, he makes it look a lot easier than it really is. Cody and I decided to take on these paintings below. As you can see our did not turn out as great as David's, but it made for some nice Mom and son time. It is sad when you can not tell the difference between mine and my 9 year old son. Needless to say I will never be a great painter.

Leaf Printing

Image
Today the kids and I did some leaf printing. I think it is a fun and easy craft to do anytime. I also think if you did these prints on fabric they would make great pillows. We used: Construction paper, leaves (the thicker the better), paint brushes, and acrylic paints. We also used a rolling pin because my girls like using them. Paint a leaf on the vein side. Press on the paper. Or roll over the leaf. Peel off the leaf. And repeat.

Cow Appreciation Day for Chick-Fil-A

Image
Tomorrow is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A. If you dress up like a cow, you get free food. Yes, I do like getting free food (especially from Chick-Fil-A), but it is fun to dress up and go see how how others dress up too. We went last year and laughed the whole time. It is so funny to see how people dress up for this. Here are this years costumes. Colton: Cheyanne: Cody: Caity: I have to say, all my kids like doing this except Caity (I can not blame her), but she is being a good sport about it. Surfing Cows HAPPY COW APPRECIATION DAY !!!!!
