My 1st 5K !!!!

My BFF, Beth, and I ran our first 5K. I can not believe we did it.
We ran in the Race for the Cure 2010.

We did great 31 minutes and 2 sec. I have never ran that fast in all my life. I know it is not fast compared to a lot of people, but for me it is terrific.

I am so glad Beth did it with me, it helped so much having the support and yes, the competition too.
Good Job Beth!!!


What got us started was a group from my church was participating in the race. Thanks Beth (a different Beth) for getting all this together, I am glad you turned me into a runner.
And Jamie thanks for the great T-shirts. Run Mama Run!!!!!!!

Awesome! Great job! I'm getting ready for a half marathon (first...and last one!). Perhaps I should have started with 5k instead. LOL!

Great job!! My husband just ran his first last weekend too. He is now hooked, we are going to watch him run another next weekend. I have to say I think I am getting motivated myself to give it a try.

Super Easy Volcanos

I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.

Fall Toilet Paper Roll Tree

This is a great craft for even young children. I think it turned out so cute. You will need: Red, yellow and orange paint, scissors, toilet paper roll, and green construction paper (or card stock). Cut the green paper into the shape of the tree top. Use fingerprints dipped in the paint as Fall leaves. Cut 2 slits down, across from each other on the toilet paper roll. Slide tree top into those slits.

Father's Day Card

If you Dad is into fishing I think this would be a great Father's Day Card for the kids to make. We used: Fish Coloring Page , tissue paper or crepe paper (cut up into sqares), glue, construction paper, wiggly eye, and a marker. Glue on pieces of the tissue paper and eye to the coloring page. Cut out the fish pattern. Glue on to folded construction paper. Write," Fishing You a Happy Father's Day !!!!" Cheyanne made one for her daddy and one for God.
