Christmas Candy Decoration

Image
Cheyanne and I made this starlight candy decoration today from a Frisbee. We used:White Frisbee, red paint, plastic wrap and ribbon. If your Frisbee has writing in the center, just cover it with white paper like we did. Paint stripes along the side. Allow to dry. Lay out a long piece of plastic wrap. Place the Frisbee on top. Cover with another piece of plastic wrap. Twist the side and tie with the ribbon.

Super Easy Bird Feeder for the Winter

Image
I just saw this great idea for a Bird Feeder. You will need: Bagel, peanut butter, birdseed and twine or ribbon. Instructions: 1.Tie a piece of twine around a bagel. 2. Coat the bagel with peanut butter and roll it in bird seed. 3. Hang the bagel outside and watch the birds. I can not wait to try this idea.

One of My Family's Favorite Christmas Traditions

Image
My family has done this tradition for many years (I think I post it every year as well). It is always one of my kids' favorites and they always ask when we are going to wrap the books. I have about 25 Christmas and winter books. We wrap each one and place it under our craft Christmas tree ( that is our tree that we hang only kid-made ornaments, do not worry our other tree also has plenty of kid-made ornaments too). Each night we pull one of kid's names out of a bowl and they get to unwrap the book and read it. They love pulling the names and unwrapping the book. And this year the older kids have said they wanted to read the books (well at least Caity did, but I am going to make the other 2 as well). The girls wrapped the books this year. It is also a good way to teach the kids to wrap. Don't you love the soldier cyclopes gingerbread man ?

Our Thanksgiving was great. It was a quiet peaceful day with the kids and good food. Caity and Cody helped peel the pototoes. I love when the kids help. Here are my happy kids. My beautiful turkey. Iam NOT a good cook by any means, so I was very happy my turkey looked and tasted good. It was even done. No microwaving required. My family waiting to eat. "WAIT " I have to take a picture first. This is one of our favorite holiday recipes. My kids ask for this on every holiday. My BFF Beth gave it to me. Felt Creations

Image
Caity, Chey and I went to a local shop that we just love called "Simply Pink" and purchased these cute owls to go on the girl's hats this winter. After looking at them, I said we can make these. And so Caity and I did. These are my 2 favorites. I did the penguin and Caity did the snowman. We used felt, scissors, hot glue gun, assorted colored thread, needles and sequins. We cut out the shapes we wanted. Caity cut out the mushroom and Cheyanne cut out this package. Then we sewed and glued them together.

I love this dessert, so I thought I would repost it. I am going to make it tonight. Yum !!! Oh My Goodness, this is a wonderful tasting dessert. Even if it was not so super easy to make, I would still love it. This is so easy the kids can make it !!!!!!! And only 3 ingredients. Ingredients: -Pumpkin pie mix (different than canned pumpkin, it has all the pumpkin spices all ready in it. I bought it at Wal-mart) -Marshmallow cream -Whipped topping Just use 2 tablespoon of each ingredient and stir. It may not seem like it makes a lot, but it is very rich. The kids, my husband and I all love it !!!
