Pre School Bumble Bee Craft

Image
Cheyanne's pre-school class made these easy bumble bees, so I thought I would share them with you. We used: Yellow and black construction paper, a glue stick, wiggly eyes, scissors, a stapler, wax paper and fishing line or yarn. I cut a 3 in wide strip long wise with the yellow paper. And cut thin strips of black that are the same length as the yellow strip. Glue on the black strips for the bumble bees stripes. Glue on eyes and draw a face. Staple the bumble bee into a circle. Cut out wings from the wax paper. Staple on the wings. Cut out a stinger and glue it on. I threaded the fishing line through the staple for the hanger. Do not for get to come back this afternoon, to post your favorite project you did this week on We Made It, Saturday Showcase !!!!!!!! I can not wait to see everyone's projects.

The Letter "C" and the Letter "V"

Image
Today Cheyanne and I worked on the letter "C" and "V". I really like the "V" craft. We used: Construction paper, glue, and scissors. For the letter"C", we also used a maker and cotton balls. I drew the letter "C" with a marker and Cheyanne drew the "C" with glue. And she put on the cotton. "C" for cotton. For the "V" craft, I cut out a volcano shape and a bunch of "V's". Chey glued on the volcano and the "V's"' "V" for volcano.

Slime !!!

This week in my preschool class, we are having creepy crawly week. My kids had a blast today. I had gone to the Dollar Tree and bought 6 or 7 bags of bugs, spiders, lizards, snakes, you know creepy things, and I put them in the rice table. They loved picking and digging out all those creepy things. Next, I made each child a container of his ( I am not being sexist, my whole class is nothing but boys ) own slime with bugs in it. They loved the slimy feel and the bugs. Of course, if I do something cool for my class, I have to do it for my kids at home. So I made an extra batch for them and they used it like Play Dough and it was very cool. I have used different recipes for slime but I really like this one at About.com Here's the recipe: Stir 1/8 cup borax into 500 ml warm water. It's okay if some borax remains undissolved. Allow solution to cool to room temperature. In a separate container, stir 2 spoonfuls of glue into 3 spoonfuls of water. White glue will give you opaque snot ...

Paper Plate Frogs

Image
When I pulled out the supplies for this craft Cheyanne said," Oh goodie , we get to paint." This is an easy and adorable frog to make. This would be a good craft to go along with the letter "F", F for frog. We used: Paper plate, 2 egg carton cups, green paint, brush, scissors, glue and construction paper (red, white and black). Paint the paper plate and egg carton cups. Allow time to dry. Cut out tongues and eyes. Glue tongue to the inside of the plate. Fold plate over, with the tongue being in the center. Glue eyes to egg cartons and glue egg cartons to plate. Ribbit !!! Ribbit !!!!!

First, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the "We Made It, Saturday Showcase!" You guys all had great projects, I loved seeing them. If you did not get a chance to check their projects out, you need too. Thanks to everyone who is making it a success. The girls and I made these super easy bird feeders today. We used: Toilet paper rolls, small plastic plates, paint, brushes, hole punch, ribbon, glue and scissors. I used hot glue, but white glue will also work. First paint the toilet paper rolls. Allow to dry. Punch 3 holes at the top of the toilet paper roll in a triangle shape. Cut 2 small half circles on the bottom, across from each other. Glue the bottom (half circle side) to the center of the plate. Allow to dry. Tie ribbons on the top to make a hanger. Pour birdseed in the toilet paper roll and hang. Here is Cheyanne's: Here is Caity's: And I made one too:
