I am a mom of 4 kids(11,10,8 and 6)who taught preschool for 2 years.
I hope you can use this blog as a resource to find fun activities to do with your children. Some ideas are new, while others have been around a while. This is a place where I can store all our activities without having to actually have to store them in my attic. I hope you find some fun and easy ideas.
I love using things for crafts that I would normally throw away. On this craft we used plastic lids from butter containers. Cheyanne had so much fun stencilling.
We used: Plastic lids, cookie cutters, small scissors (or craft knife), sponge, permanent markers, construction paper and paint.
Trace cookie cutter on the lid and cut out.
Use lid as a stencil (lip side up).
Here are our bunnies we stenciled.
Then we decorated them with, eye, nose and whiskers.
Jennifer, I really like this idea and have been meaning to do it with my kiddo but it's taken us awhile to build up our stock of used lids. Would you be willing to share this in a post on my new blog http://abcand123learning.blogspot.com/ I would like to feature it in a from the pantry post scheduled for March 20 with a picture - that does not include your child, brief description, and direct link back to you. Credit would of course be given to you too. Please let me know! katiesnestingspot(at)live(dot)com.
Really a great idea!!! Just few days ago we've made shamrock's stencil to paint a hat for San patrick's day and I've used paper. Well it works but It's not so easy fo kids. The idea of using the lids It's great, so simple and so useful. Thank you very much, i'm sure I will do it soon. Greetings from Italy!!!
Oh boy! This will be the perfect way to use up plastic lids. And I love how the lid helps reduce mess of the paint because it kind of has a rim. Time to start saving!!
I have also used ice-cream container lids with the paper sticker taken off. The surface remains slightly sticky which helps the stencil to stay still when painting.

I knew there was a reason I was saving all those plastic lids!! Thanks for the idea. You always have such great ones.
I save stuff like this...glad to see I can now use them! Great idea - I'm going to try the bunny.
LOve this idea! Too many plastic lids in the landfills these days!
Lovely stencils, and a great use for plastic lids!
