Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

Hello everyone. I hope you all have a great Halloween, try not eat too much candy (That is mostly a reminder to myself). Link any fun projects you have done with your kids lately or Halloween costumes. I would love to see every ones (kid's and adult's) costumes. Here is a Black Halloween cat made from an artificial carnation. The flower looks a lot cuter than the pictures show. We used: Artificial carnation (I could not find a black carnation, so I spray painted a pink one), craft glue ,wiggly eyes, chenille stems (black and gold) and 2 small yellow flowers ( I think green ones would look better). We glued the wiggly eyes into the small flowers. Then glued the small flowers to the carnation. Twisted some whiskers and glued them on. Next, we took a small black chenille stem piece and glued it into the center of the whiskers for the nose. Finally, shaped the ears and glued them on.

Here is a simple Halloween Wreath that looks great and reinforces patterns. We used: Paper plate, construction paper (orange, yellow and black), scissors, glue, plastic spider, and white chenille stem (or white yarn). Cut out center of paper plate. Cut construction paper into strips. Make loops with construction paper and glue on plate in a pattern. We used black, orange and yellow. Then glue spider to chenille stem or yarn. Glue chenille stem to the back of the plate with the spider hanging down in the middle of the wreath.

Cheyanne made this happy mummy head today. We used: Craft foam ball, gauge tape, glue and wiggly eyes. Wrap the ball with the gauge tape. Glue on the eyes and draw on the mouth (optional).

I can not believe my first baby is now 10! Double digits, he is getting so big. So since his birthday is in Oct., he always has a Halloween party. I love it, the house is always decorated and there are so many ideas. We had a sleep over with 11 kids and every year the party seems to get less work for me. I am over the big activity filled parties. I did decorate the cake. After I decorated it, I did think it was morbid to put the kids names on it, but they all loved it. They liked getting their own piece of cake with their name on it. But I did forget one child's name so he got the R.I.P tomb stone. My only activity planned was a twilight candy hunt. Each child got a small flash light and had to search for candy in the yard. Of course there was a visit from the Grim Reaper. They were so funny, they all got scared, but said they weren't. Everyone of them just froze in their footsteps. They were all in a group with Mr Reaper jumped out on them. The house was decorated with tras...

We made these great Mummies out of craft sticks and gauge. We used: 1 Large craft stick, 2 thin craft stick, gauge, scissors and glue. Glue craft sticks to form a body. Wrap the sticks with gauge and glue the end. Glue on wiggly eyes.

This are super easy but make great ghost decoration. Cheyanne had a great time making these. We used: Wax paper, glue (Craft glue or school glue), wiggly eyes, twisty tie (or paper clip bent into a "V" shape) and silver or white glitter. Tear off a piece of wax paper. Fold in half creating a crease. Unfold. Have child squeeze glue into fold. Refold the wax paper a press out glue to make an unique shape. Open up, sprinkle on glitter and add eyes. Add twisty to the top to create a hanger. Allow to dry. Cut around shape, making a great ghost. I know some people can peel the glue off but mine never work, so I leave it on the wax paper. Hang for decoration or put on string to make a necklace.

Cheyanne had a great time making these. It was messy and did not make a great end product, but it was very fun projects. It involves bubbles and that is always a big hit in my house. We used: Black paper, cookie cutters, white paint, dish detergent, water and a shallow dish. Mix water, paint and dish detergent. Dip cookie cutter into mixture. Press cookie cutter on paper. The kids have fun watching what kind of print you get when you pop the bubble and lift off the cookie cutter.

This is a great Halloween craft. Cheyanne loved making these easy ghost and they look great hanging on my windows. We used: White paper, black water color paint and brush, a white crayon, glue and wiggly eyes. Cheyanne colored a ghost on the white paper with a white crayon. Tell the child to press hard when coloring. Brush the black paint over the paper revealing their ghost. Allow to dry and glue on eyes.
