Sunflowers

Today in my toddler's class we made these great sunflowers. It is a great Spring project for little hands.
We used: Construction paper, glue, scissors and sunflowers seeds.
I drew a circle on a piece of paper and cut out 6 petals for each flower.
I asked them what the shape on the paper was and we counted out the petals together. I also asked them," What color the petals were?"


They glued on the petals and added the seeds to the center of the flower.


What a great way to add color to a classroom.

This has nothing to do with the craft but have to say way cool going to try it with my playschool class.....I noticed that your first pictures childs name is Karley what a nice name as it is my daughters name and spelt the same way soo coolllll

Super Easy Volcanos

I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.

Cricket Craft

Here is another repost, we are doing bugs at preschool, so this fits right into what we are doing. I found this cute craft on the Better Homes and Garden website. My kids saw it and could not wait to make it (because it is a bug). I made some modifications to it to make it a little easier for younger kids. Do not be scared of the paint because you do not have to use it. I know paint can be messy. You will need toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, pom-poms, paint or markers or green construction paper for the body (to make the toilet paper roll green), wiggly eyes, chenille stems, green foam sheet or construction paper and a pencil. Have the kids paint the toilet paper roll green. OR you can have them color it with a marker OR just wrap it in green construction paper and glue it. While the paint is drying, I get all the pieces set up to glue on. I used foam sheets to cut out legs but construction paper will work too. For the nose, I cut a triangle out of craft ...
