I ran out of places to put all our Halloween decorations, so I got out one of my artificial trees and made it into our Halloween Tree. My husband thinks I am crazy, but my kids just love it.
I LOVE Halloween trees! I've only done mine with branches but my mom has used an artificial tree (similar to yours) for her Halloween tree. I think it's fun and festive...and it's also nice to get more use out of objects you'd only use once a year (meaning the tree at Christmas). :)
Your kids are going to remember that FOREVER!! So will everyone else that comes to your house and sees it :-) Maybe you could spraypaint it black and do it every year!!
I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.
Here is another repost, we are doing bugs at preschool, so this fits right into what we are doing. I found this cute craft on the Better Homes and Garden website. My kids saw it and could not wait to make it (because it is a bug). I made some modifications to it to make it a little easier for younger kids. You will need toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, pom-poms, paint or markers or green construction paper for the body (to make the toilet paper roll green), wiggly eyes, chenille stems, green foam sheet or construction paper and a pencil. Have the kids paint the toilet paper roll green. OR you can have them color it with a marker OR just wrap it in green construction paper and glue it. While the paint is drying, I get all the pieces set up to glue on. I used foam sheets to cut out legs but construction paper will work too. For the nose, I cut a triangle out of craft ...
