Spider Web Craft


Continuing the bug theme, we made these spider webs.

Colton and Chey had a lot of fun making these.




We used: Cake pan, marble,black construction paper, pencil, scissors, white paint, silver glitter and fake spider.
If you do not have a fake spider, you can make one out of paper.










Trace bottom of the cake pan on the black paper. Cut the circle out. Place the circle inside the pan.















Dip and cover the marble in paint.
Place in cake pan and roll around in the pan. You may need to coat the marble more than once. This will make the spider web.

While paint is still wet, sprinkle with glitter. Dump off access glitter.

Glue on spider.

Your kids are going to love doing these at school!

We used to do something similar...only we had the paper in a big box and rolled marbles in different colored paint around and just made designs...I like the spider idea better!

I tried to do this with a golf ball with Hailey since she is too young to use marbles... it didn't turn out as good though. Maybe we can try the marble in a couple of years. Yours turned out soooo cute.

Super Easy Volcanos

I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.

Here is another repost, we are doing bugs at preschool, so this fits right into what we are doing. I found this cute craft on the Better Homes and Garden website. My kids saw it and could not wait to make it (because it is a bug). I made some modifications to it to make it a little easier for younger kids. Do not be scared of the paint because you do not have to use it. I know paint can be messy. You will need toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, pom-poms, paint or markers or green construction paper for the body (to make the toilet paper roll green), wiggly eyes, chenille stems, green foam sheet or construction paper and a pencil. Have the kids paint the toilet paper roll green. OR you can have them color it with a marker OR just wrap it in green construction paper and glue it. While the paint is drying, I get all the pieces set up to glue on. I used foam sheets to cut out legs but construction paper will work too. For the nose, I cut a triangle out of craft ...
