PhotoHunt This is my idea of "Messy". Play-Doh. It is evil stuff that gets all over the floor, and good heavens DO NOT get in it in the carpet. But yet, I still buy my kids a big pack of it every Christmas. Here is my MESSY FACED PRINCESS. She got into my bronzing powder. I hope it looks better on me.
I totally agree that play-doh is evil. I think every mom has spent too much time kneeling on the carpet, pulling dried play-doh bits out of it. The girls have a big storage tub full of play-doh, but I haven't let them play with it in a while. I think I'll buy a tablecloth to lay out first. For the other pic, I think it's so cute when kids get into makeup and try to do it themselves. I have a pic of Olive at 2 with half her face covered in red lipstick...it's great!
Put more colors on her face and she can play clown. When I was little I like to put colors on my cheeks and lips too. A little mess that can be washed off is OK.
I remember having play-doh as a kid! My LEAST FAVORITE thing about it was the way it smelled. To this day, I can't stand the smell of play-doh. I agree with you; it's a horrible mess when it gets squished into the carpet. :) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- My photo hunts include road construction, a bad restaurant, and a driveway full of snow.
That is the funniest thing the bronze powder......i did however buy some play dough for my 2 year old for craft time after the first of the year...I though he could play with it and cookie cutters.....her face is so cute.
I am the exact same with the Play Doh. I hate it with a vengeance, but somehow I forget and buy it anyway. UGH! I have restricted my little princess to the kitchen table (with tile floors) when she plays. Then of course, the dogs want to eat the yummy looking stuff...
oh, I HATE PLAY DOH! I especially hate the way it smells. I literally get ill from it, so I wonder if I don't have some sort of allergy. In any case, play doh has been BANNED from my house. Now I have made temporary dohs with flour salt and food coloring for the kids, but it was always confined to the kitchen or dining area! I remember having to get play doh out of everything when my youngest was little!
Oh goodness! What little girls can do sith make-up!
I agree about Play-Doh, too. As a mom, it was always so annoying to have Play-Doh everywhere. (As a primary teacher, I had the same thoughts about glitter.)
Oh, I thought that was how you were supposed to wear bronzer...

I agree about the Play-Doh...I make my kids play with it on the kitchen table and it is not allowed on the carpet! They are pretty good about obeying the rules on that one. Great pic of your daughter.
I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.
Here is another repost, we are doing bugs at preschool, so this fits right into what we are doing. I found this cute craft on the Better Homes and Garden website. My kids saw it and could not wait to make it (because it is a bug). I made some modifications to it to make it a little easier for younger kids. Do not be scared of the paint because you do not have to use it. I know paint can be messy. You will need toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, pom-poms, paint or markers or green construction paper for the body (to make the toilet paper roll green), wiggly eyes, chenille stems, green foam sheet or construction paper and a pencil. Have the kids paint the toilet paper roll green. OR you can have them color it with a marker OR just wrap it in green construction paper and glue it. While the paint is drying, I get all the pieces set up to glue on. I used foam sheets to cut out legs but construction paper will work too. For the nose, I cut a triangle out of craft ...
