Snowman Cups



Styrofoam Cup Snowmen

I thought this would be an easy Winter Craft to do over the Christmas break. Go to Scribbit for other great ideas to do over the Christmas break.
I used a Styrofoam cup, with blacks buttons foe eyes and mouth. Ear muffs are pom-poms and green pipe stem cleaner. Construction paper for nose and checks, hot glued on. The scarf is made from felt.
I am using Mr Snowman for decoration and a candy cane holder. I thought it would be cute for a kids Christmas or winter party.

Those buttons are adorable--we were looking for some when the kids made a snowman the other day and I was fresh out. You can never have too many buttons for crafts.

Super Easy Volcanos

I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.

Cricket Craft

Here is another repost, we are doing bugs at preschool, so this fits right into what we are doing. I found this cute craft on the Better Homes and Garden website. My kids saw it and could not wait to make it (because it is a bug). I made some modifications to it to make it a little easier for younger kids. Do not be scared of the paint because you do not have to use it. I know paint can be messy. You will need toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, pom-poms, paint or markers or green construction paper for the body (to make the toilet paper roll green), wiggly eyes, chenille stems, green foam sheet or construction paper and a pencil. Have the kids paint the toilet paper roll green. OR you can have them color it with a marker OR just wrap it in green construction paper and glue it. While the paint is drying, I get all the pieces set up to glue on. I used foam sheets to cut out legs but construction paper will work too. For the nose, I cut a triangle out of craft ...
