Ants and the Letter "A"

The Letter "A" is for Ants and Apples.

.
For this project we used construction paper, scissors, glue and dry black beans.










I cut out the "A" and an apple.












Cheyanne glued on the "A", the apple and of course the black beans for ants.










I did draw a few lines next to the beans to make the ants look as if they had little legs.









Here is another ant project, if you are not doing letters.






I think this is a cute ant craft. I borrowed it, from my daughter's teacher, she has some of the most amazing ideas. My daughter is lucky to have such a creative teacher.




















Materials used: Construction paper, fabric squares, glue,markers and black beans.













First we glued down the fabric square for the picnic blanket.












Then the kids decorated their pictures with a tree, a basket and sun.












After getting the picture like they wanted, they glued on the black beans for ants.











Here are the ants crawling to the picnic basket.

Super Easy Volcanos

I love this project it is so easy and only takes a short amount of prep time. Cheyanne loves making the volcano erupt. We used: plastic plate, plastic cup, aluminium foil, tape, vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring. Tape the bottom of the cup to the center of the plate. Cover with aluminium foil. Cut a hole in the center of the foil and push the edges down in the cup. Spoon in some baking soda. Pour in the vinegar. Watch it erupt.

Cricket Craft

Here is another repost, we are doing bugs at preschool, so this fits right into what we are doing. I found this cute craft on the Better Homes and Garden website. My kids saw it and could not wait to make it (because it is a bug). I made some modifications to it to make it a little easier for younger kids. Do not be scared of the paint because you do not have to use it. I know paint can be messy. You will need toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, pom-poms, paint or markers or green construction paper for the body (to make the toilet paper roll green), wiggly eyes, chenille stems, green foam sheet or construction paper and a pencil. Have the kids paint the toilet paper roll green. OR you can have them color it with a marker OR just wrap it in green construction paper and glue it. While the paint is drying, I get all the pieces set up to glue on. I used foam sheets to cut out legs but construction paper will work too. For the nose, I cut a triangle out of craft ...
